Committee for IP Business Structure
Committee Chairs
The committee chairs supervise the work to identify emerging trends, best practices, thought leadership, topics, opportunities and problem areas in the committee’s area of IP business structure.
They coordinate the development of strategic and tactical solutions by surfacing and exploring different approaches to i IP business structure. They accomplish this by enlarging and intensifying awareness of how to conceive, design, build, improve, and sustain activities in this critical area.

Purpose
Most aspects of IP rely heavily on highly granular and intricately interwoven processes. However, while process creation and continuous process improvement (PI) as well as project management (PM) may be employed opportunistically, they are often not approached in a strategic manner, using tried and tested methodologies and tools. Whether due to time pressures or lack of knowledge about or perceived applicability of such methodologies and tools, the drivers for operational and service excellence have never been greater, and more organizations are assessing their maturity and readiness, building business structures that enable competitive positioning, and achieving impressive results.
These approaches offer a wide spectrum of benefits far beyond individual processes and projects. They can be used to inform an organisation’s overall structure and the way people work together internally and with clients by providing tried and true methodologies, clarity, and solid frameworks. PI and PM are uniquely well placed to inform decision making and organisational development, including strategic decision making. They are useful for individuals, as well as improving the team performance and cross-functional coordination.
This committee provides education and learning and seeks to further explore and develop suitable approaches specifically tailored to the various requirements within IP.
