Challenges
In this interconnected and digital world, IP Management is fraught with risk. While a formal definition for “IP risk” does not yet exist, IP Managers know that they have to deal with legal risks; administrative risks; infringement on third-party rights; and threats from third parties, to name a few. The skills needed to comprehend and respond to a wide range of risk events may take years for a single IP manager to master. In addition, the IP industry has traditionally been protective of IP management know-how.
This Risk Committee aims to overcome the barriers of information transfer within the IP profession in all areas of IP management, and in particular, IP risk management.
Activities
The I3PM Risk Committee provides a forum that facilitates the discussion of case studies and thought pieces related to IP risk management best practices. In addition, we provide practical approaches to manage IP risks and maximize rewards and opportunities.
All IP managers and stakeholders are welcome to discuss the challenges they commonly face with us.
